  1. I can so relate to this about not wanting to miss out on races.
    Your Coach is right. I know that is probably stating the obvious but I just want to remind you again that you’ll do yourself a favour by listening to him. I’ve had experience with this. When I focused solely on training and stopped doing races often, I really started seeing drop in times.

    It is hard to see everyone else having fun at races while you have to do your lonely training runs, but it will pay off in the long run (pardon the pun, hehe). Just keep your focus on the big picture, big picture is very important. You’re going to have an awesome race come Two Oceans, I know you will!
